This is a topographic map of one of the larger Indonesian islands, Sumatra. From this we can see, that much of the island is quite flat, the east side of the island being covered by a thin line of steep mountain. The Island of Java has a similar looking topography.

Bali
Bali is an island off the south coast of Java. It is full of historical sites, showing Indonesian culture pre-colonization. It is full of beautiful coastlines and forest, as well as wild life such as the monkey in the photos below. Unlike much of Indonesia which is predominately Muslim, Bali is greatly influenced by Hindu culture.
